What lessons did you learn in 2020?
We all can agree that the year has pushed us and tested us in unprecedented ways.
With challenges come growth, and like any year, December is the best time to take time to reflect on lessons learned from the year, find reasons to have gratitude, and set new goals.
There were three lessons that I learned from the year:
1. It's okay to be still. You don't have to jump into things or always be a part of a movement, conversation, or even a pivot. You can be still, take breaks and do something when you are ready. We forget that if you laid the foundation, an opportunity wouldn't pass you by.
2. Embrace change. The world and how we live in it changed drastically. Yeah, it's annoying and inconvenient, but it's where we are, and we have to adapt. Be open to the change. See how you can innovate or fill in a gap with how we are operating in these times.
3. Intentionality. It became clear that certain things don't matter the way they once did. This was the year to move with intention and always ask yourself why you are committing to doing something. Understanding our why helps drive our purpose. We can start getting clarity on what matters and what helps with that purpose and let go or start declining the things that don't.
What lessons have you learned this year, and how will you apply it to 2021?
We discussed business lessons learned with a Lemons 2 Lemonade curated panel in partnership with Vistaprint this week.
